Briana Deutsch, MSW-I
Psychotherapist, MSW-Intern
Briana (she/her) creates a warm, safe, and judgement-free space where you can feel heard, understood, and supported. She believes that therapy is built on collaboration, trust, and empathy, and takes a trauma-informed approach that honors your unique experiences and strengths. .
Briana believes engaging in therapy can be a political act for both clinician and client, emphasizing how our individual experiences and challenges are shaped by the environments and systems we interact with. Briana has collaborated with clients facing anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress disorder, life transitions, conflict in relationships and families, and identity dynamics. Briana welcomes clients from all walks of life, and as a queer cis woman, she is especially passionate about supporting queer and gender expansive people as they navigate interpersonal and institutional challenges. Briana’s clinical approach is shaped by relational, psychodynamic, attachment, family systems, intersectional, and liberatory frameworks.
Briana works with adults, adolescents, families, and couples. She is a clinical social work student at Silberman School of Social Work at Hunter College. She also holds a law degree from City University of New York School of Law and spent several years defending youth, adults, and families from deportation. This experience gave her a deep understanding of how trauma, uncertainty, systems of power, and life circumstances can shape a person’s well-being. She values the importance of listening closely, engaging with care, and understanding you as a whole person, beyond the present challenges you may be experiencing.
